I created Soft Slate out of a yearning.

 

Because I, like you, am an actor - an actors who's worked with Jordan Peel, The Daniels, Lance Acord, and many other talented artists who's names you'll know soon enough.

But booking those jobs took me many years of refining my approach to taping. 

 

In the beginning, I went to XYZ Acting Studio to film tapes. I always walked in feeling tense… and left feeling even tenser. The lights, the camera, the sterile background, the stranger behind the lens - all of it stole my ability to live in a scene. My comfort. 

 

Being in the room with a casting director is one thing, sure. But when you can actually control your comfort factors, why not build the most comfortable scenario possible? Comfort. There, I said it three times for good luck. ​

 

So, I turned to my friends. No fancy lights, no expensive camera, no editing. Just me, my phone, and a friend in my living room. That’s when I started booking.

I know how much it matters to be in the right creative space to make the best tape possible. A unique tape. Not one with the same drab background and flat air. ​

 

And the best part? I’m no gatekeeper. I’d love to share my silly craft with you.
